David Duchan

David is new to multisport competition, having only started seriously cycling mid-year 2006 and making the decision late that winter to chase the South Carolina Triathlon Series, but his debut year has show a world of promise for his future in the sport of triathlon. An aggressive cyclist, he quickly developed the speed necessary to be competitive in his already fast age group. Years of casual running experience in the US Navy formed the base for more specific training, showing a rapid improvement in both speed and stamina. Having qualified for Age Group Nationals in this first competitive year and taking 2nd place (M 30-34 age group) at the inaugural Tri the Ridge Pickens Family YMCA sprint triathlon, he consistently finishes in the top 10 of his highly competitive age group, the future certainly looks bright for not only success in triathlon, but individual cycling and running events.
